Horham Green Dragon

A document valuing Horham's Green Dragon was given to Andy Andrews by Roger Chapman who, as a child, lived in Horham and whose mother lived at The Dragon during the Second World War. It is the 1921 valuation of Horham's Green Dragon pub. I believe a Mr Baldry was running it up until it closed. I know quite a few people who had their “first drink” in the Dragon and this document harks back to the days when villages still had at least one pub or an alehouse. Dated January 21st 1921 the valuation was from the representatives of the late Mrs H Baldry to Mr H Baldry. The valuation was carried out by a Hoxne firm. Click to see the 1921 valuation of the Dragon and the front page of the document.
